DAVID GLASSER, Founder and Chief Engineer

DAVID HAS OVER 50 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in audio engineering and has mastered thousands of records, including more than 100 GRAMMY nominees. A three-time nominee himself, he has earned two GRAMMY awards for mastering and restoration of the culturally significant Anthology of American Folk Music (1997) and Screamin’ and Hollerin’ the Blues: The Worlds of Charley Patton (2002). David has mastered numerous Grateful Dead albums and box sets, including Europe ’72, 30 Trips, and Enjoying The Ride, as well as soundtrack remastering for the Meetup At The Movies series. He is the mastering engineer for the new Grateful Dead/Nugs high-resolution streaming service, Play Dead. Other recent notable projects include music from Sturgill Simpson, Jim Lauderdale, The Third Mind, Darol Anger, and Del McCoury.

David began his audio career with the Boston Symphony Transcription Trust, followed by eight years of recording and production at National Public Radio. He founded Airshow in 1983 and shifted to full-time mastering in 1990 with a modest studio in Springfield, VA. He expanded the company to Boulder, Colorado in 1997. In 2016, David built a new facility in the Boulder foothills, where he continues to enjoy the daily variety of a busy mastering practice.
