This week the first discs of material from the Grateful Dead’s upcoming release Europe ’72: The Complete Recordings arrived at Airshow for mastering. David Glasser will be working on this huge release over the coming months as Jeffrey Norman finishes the mixes from each show.
Airshow is excited to be taking part in this historic release. The original 16-track masters were recorded on a Ampex MM1100 2″ tape machine, serial #02! Jamie Howarth at Plangent Processes supervised the transfers, and Norman, who has been the primary mixer of Dead archival multi-track material for the past 15 years, is providing the stereo to Glasser. The entire extravaganza is being produced by David Lemieux.
